Love Triangle (Mystogan x Reader x Jellal Ferdanez)

"Hey, Lucy!" You say cheerfully, approaching the blonde girl that sat at one of the long tables at Fairy Tail.

"Oh, hey there (name)! How are you? How are you liking the guild, you're a few weeks in as a new member and you must of seen all the commotion that goes on daily. How's that holding up for you?" Lucy smiled back and motioned for you to take a seat next to her which you kindly took the offer and sat next to her.

"I love it! Everyone sure is lively and kind to me. It warms my heart to know I can get along with everyone."

"I'm glad to hear that! We're all one big happy family!" Lucy began to giggle which seemed contagious because you began to giggle lightly as well.

"Hey, may I ask you something?"

"Sure what is it? You can ask me anything, (name)."

"Well I was wondering, since I don't really know anyone here other than yourself and Natsu and Gray.. And a little about Erza, if I could join your team?"

"Oh, well I think you might have to talk to Erza and Master Makar.....ov...." Lucy's eyes began to glaze over and you looked at her strangely.

"Something the matter? Are you okay?"

"Not... Again...." Was the last words she said before she passed out. You began freaking out and looked around for help but everyone else was passed out as well.

"W-What the hell is going on?! ..... Magic..?" Your eyes darted toward the guild doors where a large, masked man entered. He didn't seem to notice you as he took a quest off the board. As he turned he made eye contact with you and stood still for a moment, from what you could see of his face he seemed confused and shocked. He didn't  approach you, he quickly left the guild hall with his eyes linked to your own until your body was behind his back. Once the mysterious man left, the spell seemed to leave with him.

"D-Damn that Mystogan!"

"Mystogan was here again?"

"Why's he always do that!"

Various comments could be heard amongst the guild members which left you dumbfounded. Lucy woke up and rubbed her eyes.

"So... Who was that guy?"

"Huh... Why... How'd you..?"

"Hm? You seem weirded out? My lineage is immune to sleeping spells for some reason, I don't really know the history behind it."

"That's quite intriguing! I'll bring you to Master Makarov, (name)." Lucy stood up and grabbed your hand, leading the way.

A few days passed since I talked to Makarov, all I could think about was the information the little leader told me. I sat at the bar talking to Mirajane about it, I didn't really know anyone who would want to take me on a mission though.

"So an S class wizard needs to take me on a mission before I can join Team Natsu huh.. What about Laxus? I want to get this done as quickly as possible."

"O-Oh no! I don't think he would enjoy taking you along, he can be rather mean to newcomers.." Mirajane smiled and waved her hand as you sat on the stool, she refilled your beer mug.

"What about that Mystogan guy then? I've been seeing him more and more around town so you think maybe he would take me?"

"Humm... Oh! Actually, I did spread the news to our S classes and I now remember that he said, rather enthusiastically that he wanted you to go with him on his next mission. Which.... He said he would be leaving.... What's today... Oh! Today in...... In... An hour!"

"W-What?! Mirajane! How could you forget to tell me something so important! My god woman! I'm unprepared! I'm going to die! I need to gather my things! If I don't survive god help me I don't haunt you!" Mirajane laughed lightly at your reaction as you darted out of the guild, but you turned back because you forgot a crucial mental note. "Where did he say to meet?!"

"Hmmm.. At the train station!" After hearing train, you darted back out to your apartment and stuffed a bunch of things you thought you would need in a bag and darted back out to the train station.

You huffed and puffed by the time you got there, which was just on time. Your palms pressed into your knees as you bent over catching your breath.

"Shit shit shit, where is he.... I ... Hope he didn't leave.. Curse that Mirajane..." You were lifted into the air briefly by your bag and set down, up straight on your two feet. You looked up to see who would do such a thing and it was none other than the mysterious Mystogan.

"Oh hello! You must be Mystogan, I'm (name), it's nice to officially meet you after seeing you knock everyone out at Fairy Tail the other day." You laughed lightly looking up to him and he only stared at you bewildered. "Something wrong?"

"No... Just observing. Let's go." Mystogan began walking away towards the train and you hurried after him not wanting to be left behind.

After about an hour of riding the train in silence and him occasionally staring at you for long periods of time, you decided to speak.

"So what's the quest about?"

"We must eradicate a cult that is terrorizing a village that possesses large monsters to do their bidding."

"Sounds kinda.. Scary. But I'm sure it'll be fine!" You laughed nervously, reassuring yourself. Mystogan was quiet and kept staring at you. "Is something wrong? You stare at me a lot..."

"......." He didn't speak and you sighed, he seemed rather like the quiet type and you looked out the window feeling a bit depressed.

"....How did you nullify my sleeping spell..(name)..?"

"O-Oh..." You turned to face him again, your eyes big. "Well... My family as far back as we could tell, we have been resilient against all sleeping magic, I don't know the history behind it so I couldn't tell you why." Mystogan nodded his head and I gave a small sigh.

...

Mystogan and yourself have been traveling towards your destination for three and a half days now, you've been slowly poking Mystogan out of his shy shell and trying to get to know him more though that hasn't been working out too well. You've tried to get him to show you his face, but he's completely against the idea. You can't help but feel attracted to Mystogan, maybe it's the mysteriousness and his strength. Who knows..

You were given some jewel to go buy some food for the remainder of the journey since food was a little low and you'd be arriving in the town where your mission was in about a day. You hummed a little tune to yourself as you passed through the market trying to find a food you think he would enjoy.

"That's a beautiful melody."

Startled you let forth a yelp whilst holding your chest and slowly turned around to see a man with blue hair and a red tattoo on the side of his face.

"A-Ah! Thank you.." Your face flushed red in embarrassment, you hadn't thought it was loud enough for people to hear. You quickly turned to a shelf and scanned the delicacies on it.

"This is my favorite, I think you would like it, it helps calm the nerves as well as giving you a lot of energy and strength."

"Oh... Thank you. That's very informative.. Sir." You smiled gently at the stranger as he handed you the packaged food.

"How rude of me, my name is Jellal, do you need help carrying anything as a matter of fact? You seem to be carrying a lot."

"I-I'm (name), it's nice to meet you, Jellal, and that would be helpful thank you!"  Jellal gave a small grin and took some of the stuff from your arms as you began to walk to pay for the items.

"So, are you here on a mission?" He asked observing you, his eyes seemed to wonder over your body.

"I'm just here with a comrade for a quick stop to get some food, we're going to the next town over for a S Class mission."

"Hm? Over there? That's a dangerous place for a cute woman like yourself to be heading, you don't mind if I tag along do you?" Jellal said whilst taking your bags and walking out of the market.

"Oh, but.. My comrade... I think he's shy, I don't know how he'd like a stranger to accompany--"

"Don't you worry, I'm sure he would understand. I don't think he can consistently protect such a beautiful woman at all times? What if things were to get dangerous real fast, two people could easily get killed if they don't know what exactly they're expecting. Don't you think and extra hand would be helpful?"

"I... Uh--"

"You can keep your reward, I think it would be rewarding enough to protect you."

Your face turned red once again as you began to search for Mystogan to push the embarrassing thoughts aside. Jellal chuckled and spoke up once more.

"So what does this comrade of yours look like so we can find him quicker?"

"He... He's kind of big, around your size actually and he wears dark robes and a mask with a staff." Jellal hummed in amusement and nodded.

"Oh! Wait there he is!" You quickly ran over to Mystogan with a smile and tugged on the back of his sleeve due to his back facing you. "Mystogan! I found some food I think you would like. A-And a man named Jellal asked to accompany us." Mystogan turned around and scanned the area until his eyes landed on Jellal. Mystogan placed his hand on your shoulder and pushed you behind him, you couldn't help but blush at his actions. "Ah, Mystogan..?"

"Well... Quite the surprise." Jellal grinned as he spoke, Mystogan remained silent and took the bags that were being handed to him by his counter part.

"What brings you here? I'm capable of protecting (name), we don't need your help." Mystogan said getting a bit defensive, you popped your head out to the side from behind his back.

"Do you guys know each other? That's great! So you don't mind if he comes?" You smiled up at Mystogan sweetly with bright eyes. He looked down to you, his dark eyes peered into your (eyecolor) ones. Mystogan quickly looked back to Jellal, not wanting you to see the faint blush from the exposed skin of his cheeks.

"We both know if things turn around for the worse someone will have to protect her, just think of me as an extra body guard."  Mystogan  shrugged, not necessarily caring if he tagged along or not, Jellal did have a point and the last thing Mystogan wanted was for you to get hurt. As Mystogan walked off to the train you quickly darted after him yelling for him to wait up and Jellal followed behind.

...

"So, (name)." Jellal asked as we walked down the dirt path towards the town.

"I-I! If it's about me falling asleep on your shoulder I'm terribly sorry!" Your face turned red with embarrassment as you wondered when you fell asleep. You couldn't help but think you may have drooled as well.

The truth was that you actually had fallen asleep against Mystogan, but the two men began to quarrel for the rights of you sleeping against them peacefully. Being so dead asleep you didn't feel a thing and ended up on Jellal's shoulder once Mystogan had enough of the quarrel. Mystogan grunted in disapproval as he walked in silence. Jellal spoke up again.

"No, I was curious as to what magic your harness."

"O-Oh.. Well, fire magic is my specialty, I can nullify sleeping magic due to my family line. I don't know why or how, but I do." Jellal nodded with a grin of amusement.

"We're almost there.. The road gets bumpy and there are tree roots all over..... You should stick to me so you don't trip." Mystogan said gruffly and he held his hand out. You blushed with a smile and grabbed his hand.

"T-Thank you, I suppose I can be clumsy at times.."

"Why don't you take my hand instead, he's carrying that staff, he won't be able to quickly cast a spell if need be if he's holding you." Jellal swatted Mystogans hand from my grasp and took a hold of my hand.

"I'm perfectly capable of casting a spell even if I hold her hand..." Mystogan glared at Jellal and forcefully grabbed my wrist that was occupied by Jellal's hand this time.

"I-I ... Guys... If you're so worried about me falling, I do have two hands.. You don't need to hold the same hand." You pipped up innocently and oblivious as to what they were really quarreling about.

"Good idea." Jellal said not moving his glare from Mystogan's and his hand slowly went to grasp your free one. You looked up to both of them like a confused child.

"Guys, is it really that big of a deal? Stop with the glaring or... Or I'll just go on ahead by myself!"

"No!" They both said in unison, snapping their glare down to you and you recoiled, frightened. Their grips on your hands tightened and the three of you began the rest of your short journey to the town.

At first the town seemed to be deserted in ruin, but it wasn't until you were searching in a building that you were suddenly attacked by a mob of monsters. Your fire attacks were weak though engulfed the building and the two men ran to you in panic to quickly eradicate them. More and more came you were forced to stay behind them in protection, forbidden to fight unless it was a life or death, sneak attack situation. You managed to capture an escaping cultist and imprisoned him in a circle of fire created by your fire whip. You figured he'd be good to question, that is if he didn't die first.

"Oh shi-- GUYS!" You nearly screamed in terror as you bumped into Mystogans back, your trembling hand gripped onto the back of his cloak. Jellal continued to fight off smaller monsters and cultists that popped out every now and then. Mystogan turned protectively encasing you in his arm before pushing you over to Jellal who then ordered you to stay close to him. A large beast tore through the forest, who seemed to be possessed by a cultist who stood on it's shoulder. The beast was massive, almost taller than the trees surrounding the village.

Mystogan seemed to be having trouble taking down the beast and once Jellal finished off all the cultists and monsters he then turned to help Mystogan. Jellal panicked slightly due to noticing you were missing and he screamed for you. You were currently climbing to the roof of the tallest building you could find, he kept screaming at you to get down and come back to him for protection. You thought of something they hadn't though, since the beast was too strong due to it's possession, you figured if you took out the cultist possessing the beast, the beast would then retreat back to it's home in confusion as to why it was out. You remembered reading about this sort of monster in a book, they're nocturnal and would no way in hell be out in the daylight like this.

You propelled yourself forward using your fire magic to the top of the building where you then steadied yourself on the roof to prepare yourself for the perfect landing. Jellal looked frustrated as he fended off the beast, Mystogan look pretty agitated that you were intentionally putting yourself in harms way. The cultist cackled as he stood full of pride of the shoulder of the beast which pissed you off.

"One.... Two..." You positioned yourself and took the chance to leap off the build once the beasts' shoulder was in range. "THREE!"  As you jumped the beast seemed to become aggressive and you wouldn't have made it unless you propelled yourself forward using your magic; a small burst of fire propelled you forward and right into the cultist whom you were now free falling with.

"You bitch! You're ruining everything you weakling!"

"BURN IN HELL WRETCH!" You yelled back, your eyes filled with aggression as your body burned up with flames whilst you fell from the beast, the drop was as high as a five story building, whether you survived or not was up to the Gods. Your fire magic exploded from your body and you conjured a fireball in your hand, things would get messy from here on out as you exploded that fireball in the cultists face, being so close range his head exploded. You then used what was left of his body as a shield for the oncoming impact with the ground, at the last moment everything seemed to slow down but was too late as you collided with the ground.

Everything was hazy, you stirred around in pain momentarily before coughing up blood. You heard voices that seemed to be arguing for a moment, all you knew was that you were being carried in someone's arms. You figured it was Mystogan because you saw a black cloak flop around behind the body who was carrying you. Jellal looked into your eyes as he held your cheek momentarily.

"She's awake. Not looking too good though." The bluenette said a bit worried. You could feel Mystogan's hands firmly pressed into your bottom and thighs as he supported you, your chin  rested on his shoulder and you stared blankly into Jellal's eyes. You weakly lifted your arms to wipe off the bit of blood on Mystogan's shoulder that came out of your mouth, you then said a weak sorry before Mystogan gently placed you down on  cool, soft, grassy ground. Mystogan and Jellal then began to fix your wounds and gather water from the river only a few feet away and try to feed you food to get your strength back.

It's been a good eight hours since the boys set camp up at the river side, it's been quiet for the most part since they were terribly worried about your condition. Quiet except for the couple of quarrels they got into with each other mainly over you. Whether it was who was going to feed you, dress what bandages or why you were left out of whose site and why didn't someone stop you from jumping off the building. You couldn't really say anything to make them stop, all you did was look at them from your laying position and eventually when one of them caught your eye the fight diffused.

Sixteen hours since the battle it must of been extremely early in the morning. The skies were pitch black and you could see some stars. The only sounds you heard were the crackling of fire and a frog croaking. You managed to sit up a bit feeling like you were strong enough to move around now. You crawled slightly over to Mystogan's bag and rifled through it looking for food. Jellal noticed you were awake and quickly came over and stopped you, then found a prepackaged protein bar, opened it and gave it to you. You sighed lightly at his babying of you and took it.

"So.." You began, your voice was a bit scratchy and you looked over to him. He gave a slight smile to reassure you everything was okay as he stared at your bruised up face. "Did the monster flee like I intended?"

"Wha.." Jellal said slightly shocked. "It did yeah, how did you know though?" Mystogan came out from the forest and sat beside you, placing his hand on your shoulder and pulling you into him, Jellal glared at him and I pushed Mystogan away because I didn't want another fight to start, Mystogan seemed upset at your action.

"I read in a book one time, I recall seeing that specific monster, they're nocturnal beings. I figured since it was being possessed by that cultist... if I killed that cultist the spell would break and he would go back to his home. That beast has a thick armoured skin, no way the spells could get through it. I had to, you guys told me to fight if it was a life or death situation, it was getting to that point where I realized we wouldn't be able to defeat the beast with our spells deflecting off it. I figured go to the mind controlling subject, which was the cultist. If I died, then I was mean't to, if I didn't then that's alright. Fight and breathe for another day. Hopefully the villagers can go back and rebuild everything, that's all that matters." You munched on your protein bar and took a sip of water from Jellal's waterskin before letting out a satisfyed sigh. "By the way, I captured one cultist so we could question him, but I take it that he burned to death before we got the chance to take him into custody?" I looked at the boys for an answer and they nodded slightly unsure. "I only killed like two people guys and you'd notice cause their bodies would be burned up. So yes?"

"Ah, yeah actually I remember seeing a fried up body trying to crawl to the forest." Jellal snickered slightly and patted your head. You nodded your head lightly and gave a stiff laugh.

"So, (name)." Mystogan and Jellal pipped up at the same time which you thought was weird that they said the same thing at the same time. They both glared at each other again before yelling out, "Choose one of us!" You furrowed your eyebrows confused and shocked, what in the world did they mean.

"W-What are you guys talking about?"

"Who do you like more!"

"I.. what?" Your face burned up you were totally confused, why were they bringing up this weird subject at this time? You stayed silent for a moment before speaking sternly. "First off,  I barely know you guys.. I don't even know what you LOOK like Mystogan, and I just met you like the other day Jellal!" Sure you liked both of them, they were nice guys and seemed like they flirted with you, Jellal was cute but you hadn't known what Mystogan looked like so you couldn't say. Your hand unconciously went to Mystogan's cheek and hesitantly slid under his mask. He didn't do anything to stop you and you continued to strip his mask off your face. "...T..Twins...?" You said a bit weirded out and extremely confused as to why they looked the same. Your face burned red and you couldn't help it, they both were so attractive but had slightly different personalities, they were two different people.

"No.. we're not twins. Mystogan is my counterpart." Jellal said  sternly as he explained his story, then Mystogan his. Your head hurt and you ended up passing out again until late afternoon.

You stirred around, Jellal, or Mystogan rather was sleeping next to you and you felt a body behind you which you figured was Jellal. You let out a deep sigh and staggered your way up to wash your face in the river. You thought about what happened late last night, did they really want you to chose between them, to like, date did they mean? After spending about 15 minutes down at the river you made your way back up to the boys and Mystogan was cooking breakfast or rather late lunch and Jellal was just beginning to stir around to waking up. You sat down a bit ways away from the boys and thought deeply.
"I'm not choosing." You finally spoke, they both looked at you curious as to why, a quite disappointed. "I like you both, but I think it's unfair to chose." Mystogan handed you a plate of food quietly and you poked it contemplating your next words before you ate a bit. "It may sound weird, but, I don't mind you guys sharing me if that the case. Just stop with the fighting, it annoys me and it bothers me when you guys fight. I don't like it. We'll just see how things end up in the future, I want to know more about you guys."
You finished up your food rather quickly and stood up, you bent down to each of the boys and kissed their cheeks before you began packing up the campsite as they ate.

"Why'd you kiss his cheek first.."

"She likes me better."

"No she doesn't!"

"HEY! WHAT DID I JUST SAY NO FIGHTING OR I'LL LEAVE YOU BOTH IN THIS FOREST! BURNING.... Seriously guys, I'm injured, why are you making me exert this much energy in yelling at you.." You stifled out a laugh whilst running your fingers through their hair. "Be good boys and I might give you both a real kiss next time."

"Sounds good to me."  The bluenette's said in unison and you smiled at their cooperation. Though you were a bit nervous what the member's in Fairy Tail would think seeing me with Mystogan and Jellal, you figured they knew about Jellal from the story he told you last night. You figured would keep your secret on the down low or you'd just have to come out and tell everyone the truth about the situation you three were dealing with. Either way, it'd be interesting to see how this love triangle turns out to be.
